I don't do a recipe! But I prefer just a couple of fruits, peaches & raspberries or strawberries, blueberries and pomegranates.

whatever I use for fruit (in season / looks good) , I drizzle in a little bit of honey , sprinkle in some ginger (or use fresh grated if I'm feeling ambitious), and toss in some chopped mint.

my favorite is winter fruit salad, actually. Oranges, pineapple, banannas and kiwi with some frozen strawberries to make it pretty pink. I add a 1/4 cup of honey or less, and a heavy sprinkle of cinnamon.

In the summer, I tend to eat fruit out of hand as it's ripe. But peaches and raspberries are a good mix - and my husband likes blueberries in anything. A honey mint dressing would probably be very refreshing.

When I was little, I had a friend whose mother would make a big fruit salad with whatever fruits and then add frozen raspberries. When the raspberries were thawed byr still cold, she would mix it all up. The raspberries and their juice would become sort of the base for the salad. It was soo delicious!

I'm with the person who said that the best way to eat summer fruit is out of your hand. Sometimes, though, I want to serve it as a side dish, or take it to potlicks, so it's nice to have a "recipe" (ideas) for making different kinds of fruit salads. There are some great ideas here. I love the (fresh) ginger and mint idea!

I do like pomegranite, figs and some chopped fennel for crunch in with the melon and nectarines and berries. Being diabetic I use Equal or Splenda to sweeten it a bit more. Sometimes I add cinnamon.
The ginger sounds delicious. Can't wait to try that!

Somewhere I had a salad that the "dressing" used a bit of lemon/lime soda - and I believe a hint of mint. I've used the soda and let it mix with the other fruit juices - it seems to lend just a little thickness to the juices. I'm usually just a fan of throwing fruits together and leting them create their own juice, but the soda seems to give an extra kick. You don't need much, maybe about 1/2 cup for a large bowl (or 1/2 watermellon shell).

Lemon-lome soda--interesting idea! Following the ginger posts, I wonder how it would be with ginger ale. Also, with all the comments about ginger in fruit salad, I got thinking: I bet finely minced, candied ginger would be wonderful!

it really is wonderful, I forget where I even picked up the idea but I've been making it that way for a few years now. And I bet the candied ginger would be fantastic, definitely going to try that - though I probably won't do the honey if I use candied...

I bet that would be really good. I like ginger, but find that it's not always a popular flavor. I always tease (not in a mean way, of course) my best friend who's part Japanese because she won't touch anything with ginger in it. I'll have to try that with my household once as we all like it. I wonder if it's possible for it to blend in enough for those who don't care for it not to notice it.

fruit is my favourite food. I don't like to do much with it when it's in season in summer because I enjoy every gloriously natural bite. The most intricate I get is to put: sliced peach, blueberries, cherries & raspberries into a bowl...top with plain non-fat organic yogurt and half handful of raw walnuts. I'd live on that if I could!

I love plain yogurt with any kind of fruits, too. I admit that sometimes I even add a drizzle of honey, if I'm feeling really decadent! One of my favorite breakfasts is yogurt with applesauce and ground flax seed.
